Pretty funny column by Coulter, but it really points out the tactical problems McCain had against Obama.

Hey, not everything McCain did backfired. His careful cultivation of associations with the mainstream media helped him out, right?
Ah well, following McCain's pattern of logic ... I suppose McCain will now lead a coalition of moderate Republicans in joining with the Democrats to crush the Conservatives that cost McCain his one chance at the Presidency. :P
I don't want to bust on McCain though ... he seems like a decent fellow, and he did give a good speech. Unfortunately, giving gracious concession speeches isn't something you want to be remembered for ...
Also, I'm not sure if a bona fide conservative would have fared much better, since this election was about electing the first black President and repudiating Bush. There was a very strong cult of personality surrounding Obama which made him impervious to even the most incendiary scandals that would have vaporized lesser mortals. It was as if he was wearing a suit made of asbestos or those insulating ceramic tiles on the Space Shuttle. And Teflon? Ha! More like Teflon sprayed down with WD-40 judging by the way nothing would stick to him. Of course, the media may have had a little something to do with that ...
It's going to be pretty interesting observing the media's behavior over the next few years. Seeing that they've succeeded in their efforts to get Obama elected, they are more likely to push further in the same direction and expand their presence on the Interwebs.
edit: also, whenever Obama says "sacrifice," he means taxes. prepared to be sacrificed.
