Harris poll: Obama favored over McCain on economy

Results of Harris poll indicate that Obama is preferred over McCain to handle the economy by around 40% to 27%.

Obama seen as better able to handle economic issue than McCain

Nothing surprising really.  40% Dems back Obama, Inds think everybody sucks by default, and many Reps still don't like McCain so he pulls only around 27%.  It follows the roughly 40-40-20 Dem-Rep-Ind split that I think exists in the country.  More Inds tho were for Obama - tho I think there many Inds who are reliably Dems and Reps but don't like to admit it, which is why I think it is around 40-40-20, or even 45-45-10-ish.  But that's just a number I'm pulling out of the air.  Not sure what the raw numbers were on actual Dem/Rep/Ind sampling in the Harris Poll. Hmm. Whateva.

Actually, you could probably get similar polls with Obama largely favored if you picked certain issues that split the conservatives from McCain.  Questions like, "Do you think xxx will do a good job on global warming?" or "Do you think xxx will do a good job on immigration reform?" etc.  You'd probably get Obama with 40% and McCain around 20-25%.  But just a guess.  And how you phrase the question is also important.

Oh yeah, and the poll also shows that Americans blame everybody for the mess.  Gee.  Shocker.
